Large Bright West End Studio Space
Creative collaborative space in a heritage manufacturing building. Large windows, concrete floors, and open concept make this a perfect space to meet, play, and create.
Tonnes of natural light with the option of black out blinds.
Ideal for photography, the space includes a selection of lighting equipment and props. Perfect for portraits, groups, and product/branding photography. Includes:
- 2 large and 2 small lightstands
- White v-flat
- Small and large reflectors
- 2 plinths (one white, one pink)
- garment rack and small steamer
- Backdrop stands
- Selection of seamless backdrops (colours pictured in the photo are always up to date!)
The large wooden table can be extended to accommodate 12-16 people, great for production meetings and table reads.
The space also features a movable wall, allowing you to create a fully open concept space, or divide the room. The wall is a great feature to control the light and shadows of your project.
Features an in-studio washroom (and giant vintage bathtub), kitchenette, kettle and coffeemaker for all the creature comforts (coffee and tea provided!) The building also has parking to make for easy loading and unloading.
The exterior and interior stairwells of the building also make for great backdrops for photo and video. The entire building houses artists and creatives - the perfect hub!
Full day bookings are for 8 hours; for bookings of more than 8 hours you will be charged hourly.

Very easy space to work in. The large windows provide amazing light!
Lindsay was very communicative throughout the booking process! The space was easy to access and good location. Nice bright space - only it was very hot in the studio. After I let Lindsay know she ensured me she would be getting an air conditioning unit in the future (and since the heat was controlled by the building there wasn't a whole lot she could do!), and she offered me a few hours for retakes as some photos suffered because of this. Overall a great experience, she really cares and wants to make sure you're satisfied.
And thanks to your feedback, we will have an air conditioner installed this weekend!!!!
The space was wonderful to use. The bathroom was a little trickier to photograph in than anticipated but that wasn't a big deal for what we needed to capture. Make sure you open all the windows when you arrive to let the heat clear out (this is definitely well marked before you enter and inside the studio but easy to forget once you get in and start set up)! Every question you could possibly have will be answered before you even set foot in the location. Definitely recommend if you need a blank canvas of a space!
Thanks Cassandra, it was a pleasure to host you! The studio will be installing an air conditioner THIS WEEK, for more comfort!
Lindsay was a great hostess. She was extremely prompt with answers to my questions about the space and made things very straightforward with regards to instructions accessing the space.
Lindsay was such a great host! Super friendly and great at communicating. The space was so beautiful and would definitely recommend using it for a shoot!
Great communication with host leading up to rental. Instructions were detailed. Access was easy. Stunning natural light pours in and fills the whole room perfectly. I will definitely look to rent this space again.
The space worked well for a photoshoot. Lindsay wasn't very helpful in communicating and seemed annoyed when I called with a few questions about how to get into the space.
Hi Justin, I supply all the info for how to access the space in the guidelines when you book, and hadn't heard anything from you in the time leading up to your rental. I also included my phone number, and didn't hear anything until after your booking time had started. I communicated through the messaging system on This Open Space that the details were all included; when you called to tell me you didn't know how to get in, and hadn't read the info, I was in a meeting, and had to step out to take your call. I apologize if I sounded short, but it was because you said you were driving, and in a hurry, and needed to tell your client how to get in as they were waiting outside. I was doing my best to relay all of the information to you via phone so you could access the space. I haven't had any other bookings not read the directions on how to get in. I also have the guidelines and directions posted in the studio, on the wall, which outlines the expectations of how to leave the space. No other renter has ever had a problem with this.
Lindsay's space was stunning. Exactly like the photos, with tons of resources available for photographers. She was absolutely lovely, and was great with communication. I can't wait to use this space again!
Very bright and spacious, minimal, clean and white look !
Lindsay was great to communicate with. Was quick to respond to questions and requests. Arriving and getting into the studio was no problem. The space worked out really well for my shoot and we had enough space for everyone to work. Even though we didnt use any of the props and furniture for the shoot it was nice to have as options and as well as extra seating for my team. I would say there were a few concerns regarding the equipment; I didn't expect the backdrop stands to be as low quality. They worked for what i needed, but they are a bit worn in. This goes for the steamer as well. I was expecting a full stand steamer, but that should of been something I asked in the request. The handheld did work, but limited our productivity for steaming. Next time I would bring my larger stand steamer. I also on a whim brought an extra rug to keep at the door for everyone to put their shoes because I didn't know if there would be one. and sure enough there was just a small one for maybe two to three pairs of shoes. For any guests for the rest of winter I would recommend bringing a small rug if you're going to have more than like 4 people in studio. Again, the space was great otherwise.
Hi Stephen, thanks so much for the feedback! I ordered a larger shoe rack that just arrived, but appreciated you bringing your own. Thank you for the feedback on the backdrop stand; it's a new one, and I hadn't received any reviews on it from other guests. I'll look at updating it to a stronger model for future use this week! Thank you for taking the time to let me know; it's really helpful to know what would make the space easier for guests:)
