[FIRST LOOK] is where we introduce a new pop-up for the very first time. It's now in our Upcoming calendar and should be in yours too.

Inspired by Dr. Seuss, graffiti, childhood naievity and history contemporary womenswear designer Alex S. Yu is back with us this weekend to launch his f/w 2015 Collection which made its first appearance on the Vancouver Fashion Week runway last night! A designer who works between Vancouver, London and Taipei, Yu creates garments that jump between reality and fantasy, they tend to the surreal with a hint of childhood nostalgia. Do you recall this magician of fashion from last year when he popped up with us? We're huge fans.

Yu brings his trademark quirk to the f/w 2015 line of womenswear. He is interested in what femininity can look like and challenges that history by involving icons, symbols and gestures in his work. Last year Yu was selected as Niche Magazine's Sponsored Emerging Designer of the Year, awarded $15,000 to build his brand. This collection 'The Sweet Sixteen' inspired by youthful angst and the cult movie Mean Girls will shake your ideas about fall dress. Get down to 434 Columbia this weekend March 20-22, try on the clothes, take some #selfies and experience the freshest of Alex S. Yu.
