[FIRSTLOOK] is where we introduce a new pop-up for the very first time. It's now in our UPCOMING calendar and should be in yours too.
Anita Cheung is on a roll.
The local yoga teacher with big dreams is keeping busy these days with #popupMOMENT and Social Yoga. If you haven't heard of it by now, it's a series of small group, progressive classes in unconventional spaces. She's kicking things off at #popupMOMENT on September 9 to 14 to 434 Columbia St. then starting Morning-After Social Yoga to 33 Acres Brewery - a first in Vancouver.
Anita's aim is to break down any imagined barriers and spark curiosity and conversation about meditation, mindfulness, and mental health, leaving people inquisitive and hungry for more. She's out to shift perception about mental health, what it means to be a yogi.
At #popupMOMENT, expect drop-in audio-guided meditation throughout the day (it's where we plan on starting our mornings for the week and challenge you to do the same). In the afternoons, #popupMOMENT will host live, guided meditations by well-known local yoga teacher Carolyn Budgell. In the evenings, there will be two yoga & speaker series nights as well as a mindful meal. The speaker series will consist of experts from a variety of backgrounds approaching meditation from their unique angle.
The Mindful Meal is the pinnacle of the week - completely void of all distractions. No cellphones, no selfies, no Googlin' or Instagrammin'. A small table of 20 guests will come together for a four-course meal, long-table style, with no distractions. And you'll be treated to a memorable meal prepared by everyone's favourite Culver City Salads and holistic nutrition consultants My Edible Advice. Luckily, a few tickets are still available. Snatch 'em before they're gone.
The full schedule for #popupMOMENT is now up on Upcoming calendar.
