[FIRST LOOK] is where we introduce a new pop-up for the very first time. It's now in our Upcoming calendar and should be in yours too.
Local non-profit organization Shanti Uganda is putting on a one-day pop-up sale at our neighbouring shop on 436 Columbia St. The charity is bringing fair-trade jewelry, housewares, and textiles with all sales channeled back into Shanti Uganda's charitable programs. These include a mother-centered birth care centre benefiting HIV+ mothers in Uganda.
"We believe in utilizing fashion, design ,a nd holistic programming to empower whole communities in Uganda" says executive director Sadie St. Denis. The Shanti Uganda Women’s Income Generating Project employs 21 HIV+ mothers and grandmothers from Luweero District and gives them the skills training and business acumen they need to succeed.
Skip the malls and support a good cause this holiday season. Bonus: There's a half-dozen more pop-up shops happening around town this weekend. You can check them all out and support local this holiday season. Check out most of them in this guide we published earlier in the season.
The pop-up is on for one day only.
Catch it before it's gone this Saturday from 11AM - 6PM at 436 Columbia St..
