[RECESS] is when we get to hear the stories of the good people behind the pop-up. It's our favourite time and we share these conversations with you.
Less than a week away from "Portraits of Brief Encounters" we visit the fifteen contributing visual artists to get a preview of what's ahead. A month ago, these artists were tasked with interpreting stories of run-ins, pass-by’s, overhears, written by Cole Nowicki. They've created original work for this upcoming show and while most of it remains a secret until the night of, we're previewing the artists here to give you an inside look at what to expect.
If you haven't heard of "Portraits of Brief Encounters" gallery- game by now, get caught up with all the details by having a look at last week's post. Just what is a gallery-game? We're changing up the typical (and sometimes stuffy) gallery experience by turning it into an immersive one-night game. Visitors get a story book and are tasked by matching short stories to unidentified original artwork. It's all for sale and the better you do at the game, the cheaper the art becomes (full details here). Oh, and there's also a few surprises.
"Portraits of Brief Encounters" Gallery-Game goes down Wednesday, November 12 from 6-11PM. Come early, we're expecting a packed house. Save it to your calendar here.
