There's plenty of reasons to spend the night in Gastown this Thursday. The annual Fall In Love With Local event is back for another year and happening on the same night as the Gastown Shop Hop.

If you missed it last year, Fall In Love With Local is an intimate after-work event featuring some of Vancouver's best established and emerging local shops and entrepreneurs. Guests get to peruse, sample, and taste the best of Vancouver while making new friends in the local business community. It's hosted by founder Kelly Turner who started the event three years ago in Ottawa. Lucky for Vancouver, she brought #fallinlovewithlocal with her when she moved out west last year. It's hosted at Gastown's Pound & Grain a digital creative agency that's opening up their gorgeous Gastown digs to the public for one night only.

Gastown's Shop Hop happens seasonally and with fall officially here, boutiques and restaurants from around the neighbourhood are celebrating with music, treats (we're betting Nouvelle Nouvelle will be pouring wine), and promotions. There's 44 shops and 15 restaurants on board this time around. If you don't have an umbrella (maybe you just moved here, or if you're like us you 'donate' them every time you go out) you can probably grab one on sale at the Shop Hop to cover your for a night out in the neighbourhood. Come hungry. With some of Vancouver's best restaurants on board it's a great way to end your night.

#FallInLoveWithLocal goes down from 6-9pm at 326 Cordova St. The $10 admission includes food & drink samples and a canvas tote bag. Grab yours here, or bring cash to the door.

#GastownShopHop is happening from 5-9pm, check out their site for the full list of shops and restaurants to plan your night.
